The Bronx Th0t
Guest writer: Javier Martinez
When it comes to modifying vehicles, it's easy to get sucked into the same trends as everyone else. People pour money into the most popular chassis and try to add their touch to it. While most take the safe route and go after something that has a ton of aftermarket support, very few will take a chance and explore new territory. Felix Suarez from the Bronx, NY has done just that with his 2006 Honda Odyssey.
Felix is your average enthusiast who works as a driver for his family’s business and when he's not turning wrenches, his second passion is Salsa music. The first car Felix owned was a 2002 Chrysler Town & Country, little did he know this would pave the road to his journey on modifying minivans. Next, he purchased a 2nd Gen. Honda Odyssey on cut springs but that did not last long. As he was browsing YouTube one day, he came across a video of a gold 3rd Gen. Odyssey on air suspension owned by Galo Brito.

It was at that moment he was doing it wrong and realized there was much more work to be done. He sold this Odyssey and picked up another 2nd gen. Odyssey that was on air ride; he had that one for a short time then sold it and now owns the beauty you see here.
If you ever see “the THOT” at a local car show, be sure to stop by and take a good look at the van to spot those extra details. Your eyes will not know where to look; from the custom interior, to the hydro-dipped accents, to the custom trunk set up with the hard line set up. You will see what the work of a true auto enthusiast is with an eye for details.
His 2006 Honda Odyssey has been put together with a VIP style theme with modifications that are tasteful and to his personal preference. The most challenging modification Felix says was his Electron Blue Pearl paint job which happens to be a Honda color from the 99-00 Honda Civic Si, while one of his favorite modifications are the VIP modular wheels.
For the upcoming season, Felix does not have any solid plans in store for the van, but one thing he does know is that he would love to attend a show in Florida as well as the Tokyo Auto Salon.
Felix has been part of the Grounded Society car crew for 4 years where he has had nothing but positive influences from the rest of the crew. Grounded Society is a family oriented crew where #Morelovelesshate is strongly pushed. Club President “Flaco”, has been a big help in assisting with modifications and any issues that may arise. Did we mention that Grounded Society has an arsenal of modified minivans? More Honda Odysseys to be exact.
Next time you see a modified minivan on the street stop and take a look, you will be surprised at all the cool things you can do to them. The aftermarket support is continuing to grow; there are lowering springs, full coilovers, and all kind of airbag kits available.
Felix says “thank you to my wife Michelle ('the Boss Lady') who is my backbone and supports me in all my crazy ideas and to my son 'Big Boy'."
